How to Download

On Windows?  There's now an executable launcher, made by area57. It'll download the latest version of the game for you and lets you start a game with a single click of a button. Oh, and every time you open it, it'll check if there's a new version, and you'll be able to update to the new version from within the launcher! Just download the executable from here, and then run it: Link 1 or Link 2

You'll need around 500MB of free space for when it downloads the game file. If you have any problems with the launcher, check out the troubleshooting page here: https://trapquest.com/launcher-troubleshooting/

If you don't like the sound of running an executable from a NSFW site, use the download links further down and read the paragraph underneath them.

To use the Clothing window with the launcher, you currently need to download the game file separately (from the links on Patreon / SubscribeStar) and then use the sideload functionality by pressing F12.

This launcher is in alpha - we're still ironing out the kinks so there's still a decent chance it won't work for you.

If you're not on Windows, can't get the launcher working, or are paranoid about running an executable from some random lewd internet game website, then read on.

Trap Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need an interpreter program: many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it. Another interpreter called Gargoyle is available on multiple platforms but is more prone to crashes. If you're having trouble consult this page.

Known Issues

• Updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system no longer supports WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer using the recommended Windows Git. Your other option is to try Gargoyle (see here).
• We've heard that there's sometimes spontaneous crashes in Gargoyle. Use it at your own risk. If you do, it's strongly recommended to use roguelike saving.
• There's a known uncommon issue where an icon that is supposed to be rendered in the corner of an item is instead repeatedly rendered in the main narration window, about twice per second. Investigations are still ongoing but we believe this is the work of magic gremlins.
• In some interpreters, on some people's computers, with some of the more complex character windows (mainly Wonderfuller and Clothing), undo is failing to work because the interpreter's undo buffer isn't large enough to handle the game.

• Aika: Now that I'm slowly adding more ways for tops to be destroyed, I'm removing the 'unfashionable to cover this up' flag from skimpy bikini tops.
• Aika: [Lactation] A slight tweak to the amount of milk you leak when there's not much milk in your breasts should make it take slightly longer for you to run completely dry.
• Aika: Examining the sword of purity (when worn) lists all of your body parts and whether they're currently exposed, to help you work out how to optimise its power.
• Aika: Fixed a run-time problem when the wooden horse trap caught you while you had something inside a lower orifice.
• Aika: Greeting an already-unfriendly intelligent NPC who's currently not interested in you also progresses the cheerleader quest.
• Aika: Fixed a bug with examining the royal scepter while a horny royal guard is in the room with you.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where anal beads and similar falling out of you via gravity would put them in a weird state where there were 0 beads left to insert.
• Aika: Fixed a bug where any headgear would be described as 'pulsing happily' when you automatically begin seducing an NPC because of a magical temptation effect. This should only happen if your headgear has the cheeky greeting quest (which should only turn up on pink scrunchies and anything they transform into).
• Aika: Fixed a bug where the marker chest tattoo you get from one of the emerald lessons didn't have its text shortcut set up correctly, so you couldn't target it. Well you could, but you had to type 'MISSING NAME 0'.

Beta Testers:

• Lowered the number of bystanders that spawn in the cupcake serving predicament from 29 to 22 to make it slightly more feasible for you to make it without losing all the cupcakes.
• Excluded piercings and tatoos from items that prevent the game trying to automatically re-equip all your clothing after an Extra Credit predicament.
• Some changes to the football predicament: You can now enter your house before the game ends. This means that an alternate way to 'survive' the game is to bring the football with you to your house and then use the key to remove your hotpants and the vibrator before your opponent reclaims the ball and gets it far enough away from you for the creampie to occur.
  • There is a 'bad luck' check when unlocking your hotpants, where you fumble and drop the key... probably giving your opponent enough time to get the ball away from you.

Alpha Testers:

• Sex addiction, oral sex addiction, vaginal sex addiction, anal sex addiction, titfuck addiction and (if enabled) interracial sex addiction is now all set with a single command: 'set sex addiction'.
