This is a somewhat smaller changelist than normal, in order to make sure that it shipped before Christmas. I'm going to endeavour to publish another version, about this size, in late January too.

In other news, I've recently been having huge amounts of fun playing Lewdest Dungeon. It's almost everything I personally want from a sex game - lots of excellent kinks, actually interesting combat, countless meaningful decisions to make, cursed loot (with uncurse quests!!! What a great idea! :-P), and the sex integrated into the core gameplay mechanics. Madodev is developing the game at break-neck speed, and also it has incredible modding potential, which means cool new content is getting added even faster than that. I strongly recommend checking it out.

How to Download - Newbies on Windows

If you're brand new, on Windows, and either not very good with computers or just don't want to make any decisions on graphics version right now, download this zip file, which contains both the game file and the program needed to run it.

After you've extracted your zip file, all you need to do is open git.exe and then select the file starting with TrapQuest to run the game.

How to Download - Everyone Else

Trap Quest was created with Inform. To play a work like this one, you need to download two different things:

1) A glulxe interpreter program (you open this program and then select the game file): many are available, Windows Git is strongly recommended for any machine that can run it (if your overzealous antivirus has a problem with area57's improved speed version, there's an older official version here). Another interpreter called Gargoyle is available on multiple platforms but is more prone to crashes. If you're having trouble consult this page.

2) The game file: This file will end in '.gblorb' and will be around 550MB large (there's a lot of images in this game!). There are 4 different versions because there are 4 different publicly available character windows you can use.

The versions with the 5th window, the Clothing window, are available from our Patreon posts and SubscribeStar posts.

If you're new and struggling to choose which version to try, Aika personally recommends Danaume. It's the original, classic TQ artwork, and focuses on character body state rather than worrying about trying to represent odd random things from the surrounding environment.

Known Issues

• Updating to the latest version of the MacBook operating system no longer supports WINE. If this is the case for you, I'm afraid you'll need to run Windows in a Virtual Machine or otherwise fully emulate Windows to play Trap Quest on your computer using the recommended Windows Git. Your other option is to try Gargoyle (see here).
• In some interpreters, on some people's computers, with some of the more complex character windows (mainly Wonderfuller and Clothing), undo is failing to work because the interpreter's undo buffer isn't large enough to handle the game.

MAJOR CHANGES

• Christmas content is enabled by default for the holiday season! But you should be able to disable it manually if you don't want to be forced to play as a Christmas Present who isn't allowed to attack or resist for her first several encounters without getting punished.
• [Christmas content enabled] If you are on your knees, when a friendly human NPC gets bored of you and is ready to leave you alone, instead of a christmas gift you may receive a different kind of 'present' from them.
  • The exact interaction can change based on your player state and kink choices.
    • For vanilla players, this is a flick on the genitals.
    • For anilingus enjoyers, this is instead a quick kiss with their butthole.
  • You can humiliate yourself further by responding positively, in order to increase their relationship with you.
  • Also, for watersports enjoyers, friendly interested NPCs who reach the bladder level necessary to make them go and find a toilet will instead just urinate on you. Again, only if you're on your knees.
• The hose-inside-container trap is now the 'prank trap' and has (currently) 4 different possibilities.
  • It can shoot you with a liquid, as before.
  • It can shock you, causing pain.
  • A loud jack-in-the-box can spring out, causing shock (this only does something if you're trying to hold onto liquid in your mouth or butt)
  • A boxing glove comes out and punches you in the gut (causing expulsion of anything in your butt, and pain)
    • Will instead be jack-in-the-box if you are pregnant(!)
• A new subclass - the 'handmaiden'. The handmaiden is like the stripper, but specifically specializes in handjobs. You gain the class by making an NPC orgasm with a handjob during a seduction routine.
  • While you are the handmaiden, your handjobs are somewhat better at causing orgasms, and every stroke you give a dick while wearing the special gloves gives you one magically empowered slap with them!
  • The outfit is very erotic, though, and has the 'audible jiggles' attribute, so have fun dealing with that.
  • Get anally or vaginally creampied while wearing this outfit to become the 'holemaiden' - a handmaiden + cumdumpster combo. The outfit now completely exposes your lower holes.
    • [Piercing lover secret] Give a titjob while wearing this new holemaiden outfit to have it disappear and be replaced by the dick nipple piercings.
  • Some of the clothing items here - namely the negligees and the holemaiden collar, should also just be able to appear in normal play, by getting (un)lucky with transformation effects.
• Woods updates:
  • Icarus now appears in the woods rather than the dungeon. We were lacking in humanoids with penises in this region, which are often useful for completing quests - the djinn is too unreliable.
    • You can now take a candle from the cave of diviniation. But if you do, it starts raining for a bit (some outfits might become see-through when wet) and also more importantly, Icarus automatically spawns and flies into the cave.
  • [Egg Laying & Mythical Creatures] The wasps were appearing too rarely, so, now, when you get caught by the cage trap, try to escape, and get stuck, the giant wasp will appear, just in time to use you!
  • Flying NPCs (the fairies, wasps, djinn and icarus) can now fly over the foliage in the Woods, and so effectively ignore the 'walls' of this region in most scenarios. This can make it more difficult to follow them around, and also means they can suddenly appear from a direction you weren't expecting, and where you couldn't see them coming. In this instance, they get a chance to spot you immediately, rather than needing to wait a turn, which is supposed to represent that you are caught off-guard because you weren't looking in that direction. NPCs can't fly into the cave from any direction, though, so this room is more safe than others in that regard.

MINOR CHANGES

• The orc's stealing punishment didn't make a whole lot of sense - him running away - so now he instead picks a random 5 cards and creates a poker hand that punishes you with those 5 effects.
  • After finding and memorising the recipe for queen of hearts heels, you can now try to steal just the queen of hearts and nothing else.
  • You will also be given this opportunity for a guaranteed steal of the queen of hearts after any poker game where you ended up with the queen of hearts in your finishing hand.
  • Perhaps in the future I will try to code a whole system where you can steal other cards too, and also you can try and cheat in future games by swapping your stolen card in.
• Nasty Student Abriana / Abbi now has new profile art by Borvar.
  • She also now has a repeatable cutscene where she offers you a lick of her lollipop.
    • Depending on her rank, there's an increasing chance it's a trick, and she's recently put that lollipop in her pussy (or ass, if you've enabled a2m).
    • If she hasn't though, it increases your self-respect and lowers your arousal, and increases her relationship with you.
    • If it's not a trick, and you refuse, it lowers her relationship with you.
• [Christmas mode] If you get unlucky when you step on a polymorph rune trap in the dungeon, you get the bondage ribbons, which are rather cruel, what with binding your hands by your sides and giving you the 'audible jiggles' attribute which makes it easy for NPCs to stalk you around the region.
• 'Player' NPCs now start with a useful item that you can barter / run an errand for, and 'adventurer' NPCs gain one each time they get booted out to a different region and get sluttified.
• Art by Borvar for when the mechanic consummates his marriage to the Princess Bride.
• Updated art (by Wishberri) and flavour for the "Aika" NPC you can sometimes encounter in the game.
• Updated art (by Wishberri) for the Nintendolls (the final bosses).
  • For now, the Nintendoll with a penis just uses a dildo sword. This will change back to futanari for those who have it enabled, when Berri does the art for it.
• [Condoms] New cursed clothing quest gets you to drink cum out of a condom.
• New item - the ornate latex dress. Similar in outrage and exposure to the white latex bow dress.
• The shopkeeper no longer gets angry with you just for wearing an item of clothing that increases your stealth rating.

ALPHA TESTERS (December 2023 unlock file)

• New ruby ranked joint predicament - the 'Porno Predicament'.
  • I gave this one too many branching possibilities. It took like a solid week of coding. FML!
  • You and another Slut Academy student are each in a basic (fully automated except for the male talent) porn studio with a glass wall separating you.
  • You each get to make a LOT of decisions as to how your porno goes, including what you wear, how many men are involved, if there's any special fetishes included, and of course, how you behave at each moment.
  • The student who makes the most extreme porno gets to have a shower and a change of clothes before they walk home.
  • If one student significantly outperforms the other, only the losing student's porn videos will be uploaded to the internet.
  • This one has a bunch of standard TQ sex & degradation stuff going on in it, but also has some specific bonus content for interracial, watersports and a2m enjoyers.
  • If you choose the option to try and escape, there is actually a small chance you escape (as long as you're not wearing the leash), and the first video gets uploaded but you avoid having to even experience the rest of the scene, and have two more even worse videos recorded for you. But obviously assuming you fail, you'll probably be significantly set back on sexiness points, and need to do some real work to catch up...
  • Remember, in order to try this out quickly, you can use the "promote me" debug command twice to get to ruby rank, and then "joint predicament with [student in your location]" to make it instantly happen.
• A new elevator room, the 'Experience Room' (usually, the 'Desperation Experience Room', but it varies depending on enabled fetishes and RNG).
  • Art by Icarus.
  • [Pregnancy] Sometimes, this will just make you instantly full term pregnant instead!
  • [Eggs] Sometimes, this will just make you instantly full of eggs instead.
  • Assuming neither of the above alternate events happen, this fills your belly with a liquid and then presents you with several containers you can open. Each container contains a prank trap and a nice reward. Any liquid hitting the floor triggers a punishment. Depending on fetish settings, this could be:
    • [A2M] Forcefeeding what you expelled
    • [Condoms] Spilled semen collected into condom and pinned to your clothing
    • Getting shot by a discombobulator laser (transforms your clothing / you)
  • Periodically, a masturbating penis will be inserted through a gloryhole. You need to resolve this, either by slapping it until it leaves, or putting it in your mouth, or putting a condom on it, to avoid it ejaculating on the floor. All the options except putting it in your mouth can go wrong if you are unlucky.
  • If your belly becomes empty, it gets filled back up again!
• A new item, the egg vibrator, can appear for players with vaginas, when they step on the magic rune trap that would usually enlarge their labia. In the future I might make it 50/50, but for now, you always get the egg vibe if it hasn't yet spawned into the game.

OTHER FIXES

• Fixed a bug where the game no longer told you what NPCs you could see in neighbouring rooms.
• Fixed a bug where after making the orc run away, he would just come straight back when you tried to take the playing cards again.
• Fixed a bug where having any orgasm would complete the "have an anal orgasm" quest.
• Fixed a bug where the Nintendoll with a penis would no longer 'reinflate' her fellow Nintendoll with cum once you left.
• Fixed a bug where ejaculation would occur normally, even if your dick was magically detached and somewhere else.
• Fixed a bug where the deep one wasn't properly set up when it was first spawned, which could lead to it not ending up in the right room.
• Fixed a bug where the living belt of sturdiness didn't orgasm when the player did.
• Fixed a bug where when you asked a fairy for a drink, and she magically fills your lower holes up with cum too, this could spike creampie addiction straight to maximum levels.
• Did some code tweaks to try and prevent things that make a lot of NPCs in the region start to stalk you, like the audible jiggles effect, not make the game lag so much.
